Remote Learning

Thank you for considering Allstate Boat Licensing & Training for your Recreational Marine Drivers Licence (RMDL) Course and/or Personal Water Craft Licence (PWCL) Course using Remote Learning (flexible learning).

This Remote Learning & Flexible Delivery Module is offered to students in the following circumstances:

• The student resides in a location that is not readily serviced by an approved BoatSafe Training Provider
• The student's work arrangements (shift work, family responsibilities, travel and so on) prevent them from attending a BoatSafe course at the training facility, where you would have the assistance of our qualified trainers & assessors.

This Remote Learning & Flexible Delivery Module enables you to learn at your own pace, using the provided literature. All six modules of the RMDL training package (plus the seventh module for the PWC training package, if that is being included) are to be completed within six months of the date of registration for the course.

Marine Drivers Licence and/or PWC Course Content

• You will be required to study the BoatSafe Work Book and complete the written activities after each module. The completed activity sheets are then to be forwarded to your personal instructor.
• Once the completed activity sheets have been marked you will be contacted to make an appointment with the Instructor for your final stage of this course. At the appointment your instructor will
  1. have you complete a short validation examination to ensure you meet the required competencies as set by Maritime Safety Queensland. This is a closed book exam and a 95% pass is required.
  2. conduct a practical on water assessment period with you on our vessel to ensure you have the necessary skills required to demonstrate basic proficiency for attaining a Recreational Marine Drivers Licence or Personal Water Craft Licence. (In some training locations it will be necessary for you to provide the jet ski and conditions apply to the use of that PWC. Your Training Provider will provide details of the conditions)

Pre-payment in full is required when registering for the Remote Learning & Flexible Delivery Module.

Refund Policy

Once the Remote Learning & Flexible Delivery package has been sent to you a monitory refund is not available. If you decide that you would prefer to complete the course at your personal instructors training centre your payment will be transferred to that course. Arrangements can also be made to transfer your payment to another person.
