BoatSafe approved Recreational Marine Drivers Licence Courses are conducted in Tin Can Bay on weekends.
Tin Can Bay and The Great Sandy Straits is the preferred boating area for Gympie and District residents due to it's close proximity, huge untouched area, and of course plentiful fishing and crabbing.
Online Training practical assessments can be done on any weekday afternoon for people who work weekends.
Your trainer, Peter, has 30 years of local experience as a Master Class 4 skipper, namely on large vehicle ferries, charter boats, trawlers, line fishing and spanner crabbing. He will share these experiences with you, and patiently walk you through the course.
Come and see the famous Tin Can Bay dolphins from 06.30 every morning, and be ready for the boat licence training at 08.00. We regularly see the dolphins during the on board practical assessment.
We are situated at 82 Gympie Rd, with a purpose built fully air conditioned training room, only a 3 minute drive from the Dolphin feeding site. Parking is available within metres of the training centre.
