As reported in Newspaper (Star - Bayside and Northern Suburbs) May 30, Training in the correct handling of safety flares was conducted  and supervised by Peter Leech - Training coordinator at VMR base at Shorncliffe. Peter Leech is also the Brisbane north side boat and jetski licence course trainer for Allstate Boat Licensing and Training.
